  • This course provides law enforcement professionals with a comprehensive foundation in leadership, followership, and management principles tailored to the unique challenges of line-supervision. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of key leadership and motivation theories, learning how to effectively apply these models to inspire teams and foster constructive behaviors. Through the Leadership Pathfinding Model, participants will cultivate self-awareness, authentic leadership, and a personal leadership style rooted in servant leadership principles. The course also emphasizes the importance of rapport and trust, guiding participants in strategies to build strong, effective relationships with colleagues and team members.

    In addition to core leadership skills, the course addresses the complexities of agency culture, generational competency, and the strength is team diversity, equipping participants with the tools needed to lead in today’s complex policing environment. Modules on communication, power dynamics, and networking teach participants to navigate organizational politics ethically while reinforcing the importance of unity and cohesion within teams. With practical insights into performance management, conflict resolution, and wellness, the course prepares law enforcement leaders to execute their responsibilities with integrity and a commitment to agency health and resilience.


  • The PLI Workshop Plus ** includes ** the cost of the in person workshop & extends live workshops by transforming traditional education into hands-on training and development opportunities. Participants attend in-person workshops and engage in follow-up structured development activities, including virtual coaching sessions, over the course of 10 to 12 weeks.


    This novel approach was designed to help participants effectively build supervision skills and leadership tools for use on the job, supported by accountability mechanisms.

Dr. Marshall Jones

Marshall has researched police recruiting and retention for over 25 years. His background as a police practitioner, applied researcher, consultant, and trainer provide the foundation to help agencies meet the drastic changes in police recruiting and retention with actionable and common-sense approaches. Dr. Jones leverages best practices and deploys a multiciliary research approach in assessing, training, and advising agencies on issues related to the interdependent aspects of leadership development, recruiting, retention, performance, job satisfaction, and agency culture.
